Snack and Meal times

Before a child starts to attend our setting, we find out from parents their children's dietary needs, including any allergies and we record information about each child's dietary needs in her/his registration form.

Meal times are a social occasion for children and staff alike, positive interactions are shared with both children and staff at these times. During meal and snack times, children will be encouraged to use their manners and say “Please” and “Thank you” and conversation will be encouraged.

Staff will use meal and snack times to help promote children to develop independence through making choices, where possible, to serve their own food and drink at snack times and also feeding themselves. Staff will support children to make healthy choices and understand the need for healthy eating. Fresh drinking water is constantly available and frequently offered to children and babies throughout the day. Water or milk will be offered at meal times.

Trinity Park Nursery is committed to offering children healthy, nutritious and balanced meals and snacks which meet individuals needs and any dietary requirements. Individual dietary requirements will be respected.

Parents will recieve a written account of children’s feeding routines on a daily basis for those children under the age of 3.
