Baby and Toddler Room

Within the baby and toddler unit there are 2 separate classrooms, each of which is dedicated to different age groups which range from 6 weeks to 3 years old. The Jelly Babies room is for babies aged 6 weeks old - 2 years old and the Jelly Tots room is for toddlers aged 2-3 years old. We operate a key worker system in both these rooms where children can build secure attachments with loving responsive carers. Parents should have no fear transitioning their little one into nursery as we tailor our settling in to the needs of your child and you.

Jelly Babies (6 weeks-24 months):
Our cosy baby unit is self contained and caters for all our babies needs.  Through the constant care and support from our qualified staff, we have created an atmosphere which allows babies to develop and progress at their own pace and grow in confidence. Our baby room is for children aged between 6 weeks old to 24 months. The environment is a safe, secure, cosy and well-supported space. We also have a separate sleep room to enable our babies to sleep in the comfort of a quiet environment. 


Jelly Tots (2-3 years old):

Our toddler room is designed for children aged between 2-3 years old. Children are given the opportunity to explore their environment freely.  The activities provided are based upon their interests and first experiences of the world. We will provide a range of activities, sensory equipment and various natural materials that will stimulate and encourage their development. We recognise that every child is an individual and has varying needs and abilities; we plan every child's day to make it fun and educational.  All activities are carefully planned, prepared and appropriate for each individual child's age and stage of development.

Parental Partnerships
When you collect your baby/toddler, you will receive a completed daily record sheet that will detail the amount of food and drink that has been consumed. In addition it will tell you about what your child has enjoyed during the day. We also maintain a sleeping check record as well as a record of nappy changing.
